The Nirbhaya case came to a new juncture on Monday. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has arrived to check the executions of the wicked wind, Akshay and Vinay. The culprits are to be hanged in Tihar at 5:30 am on the morning of 20th March. The legal options of the four wicked in the Nirbhaya case have been exhausted.
23 to be heard in Supreme Court on separate executions of convicts
The Supreme Court will hear the Home Ministry’s appeal on March 23 appealing for separate executions of nirbhaya convicts. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was presented by the center on Thursday, told the court that the culprits have made a mockery of the system. During the hearing on the 15th of February, the Apex court had said that there would be no impact on the issuance of a new death warrant for execution by the trial court pending the centre’s plea for separate executions of the culprits. The Bench of Justice R. Bhanmati, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice A.S. Bopanna said, “We want to make it clear that the pendency of such petitions cannot be considered a hindrance to the trial court judgement. The court can decide it at its discretion. “
Death warrant has been rejected three times
For the first time, the 22nd of January was to be hanged at 6 o’clock in the morning, but averted.
For the second time, the death warrant for execution was issued on February 1, but the executions were not held.
For the third time, the 3rd of March was to be hanged at 6 am, but the guilty wind was hanged due to the legal option left.
The death warrant was issued on March 5, the fourth time. The Delhi court ordered the four to be hanged at 5:30 am on the morning of March 20. Now the accused have gone to the International Court to stop the executions.
December 16, 2012: 6 convicts had been povertyed by Nirbhaya
On the night of December 16, 2012, 6 people had a poverty in a moving bus from a paramedical student in Delhi. Nirbhaya died during treatment in Singapore on December 26 due to serious wounds. Nine months after the incident, in September 2013, the trial court sentenced 5 convicts Ram Singh, Pawan, Akshay, Vinay and Mukesh to death. In March 2014, the High Court and the Supreme Court in May 2017 upheld the death sentence. During the trial, the main culprit, Ram Singh, was hanged in Tihar jail and committed suicide. Another convict has been exempted from the correctional home in 3 years due to being a minor.
