The labourers working under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) will no longer be able to get fake attendance. MGNREGA workers will now be present twice a day through the mobile app. For this, the Department of Rural Development has developed the NMMS App.

The Department of Rural Development has launched the National Mobile Monitoring Software (NMMS) app. Panchayat representatives will download it in mobile. They will be able to attend to MGNREGA workers through this app itself. The concerned ward members will first be given training by the Gram Rozgar Sewaks belonging to the Panchayat. For this, all the ward members of the province will have to register on the NMMS app first. Only after they are registered will they be able to attend to the workers through the app.

Photos including the work site of MGNREGA workers will have to be uploaded twice a day on the app. The first photograph has to be uploaded in the morning, while the second one will have to be uploaded between 2 pm and 5 pm. All this process can be done only through the mobile registered through geo-tagging.
